His Excellency the Minister of Economy, Industry and Investment, Eng. During the meeting, the Minister listened to a detailed explanation about the workflow of the platform, the services it provides, and the future prospects that are relied upon to simplify investment procedures and improve the business environment.
The minister stressed the importance of approving Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with the concerned authorities to regulate procedures and set clear timeframes for the completion of services.
For his part, GAFI Chairman Yasser Al-Mansour explained that there is a plan to link 14 government entities in the first phase of integration, with a future expansion to include 20 entities.
He pointed out that four entities currently represent the basic nucleus of the integration, most notably the Ministry of Economy, Industry and Investment, the Yemeni Standards and Metrology Organization, and the tax and customs authorities.
Al-Mansour emphasized that the issuance of a project registration certificate does not exceed three days after fulfilling the requirements, and that the platform currently includes a service directory containing about 190 services, in addition to the completion of sectoral technical requirements, in preparation for the start of drafting the executive regulations of the investment law, which is scheduled to be launched after next June.
He pointed out that the platform uses international cybersecurity standards and is managed through a cloud-based data center, and KDIPA staff have started using the system in daily operation since November 16, and is ready to integrate with at least 12 different government entities.
For his part, Engineer Mohammed Musharah, Technical Undersecretary at KDIPA, reviewed the list of services that have been fully digitized, and the services provided by the relevant authorities that have been included in the platform's portal, pending institutional linkage with them.
At the meeting, it was agreed to start coordination with partner entities to sign service level agreements and agree to form technical teams to start linking and integrating procedures between KDIPA's systems and the systems of these entities, and to identify two main services for integration in the first phase: linking the commercial registry to the investment registry, and the procedures for exemption certificates related to import and export.
Emphasizing that approvals and licenses should be extracted from the entities' systems automatically through the Nafaa platform, without the need for manual entry.
