A meeting held at the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Investment—chaired by Minister Eng. Moein Hashem Al-Muhaqari—approved a set of measures aimed at streamlining procedures and granting full fee exemptions for small and micro enterprises, entrepreneurs, and innovators. The decision comes as part of the government’s strategy to foster a more enabling investment environment and support the growth of the local productive sector.

During the meeting, Eng. Mohammed Ahmed Al-Farza’i, Head of the Projects Sector at the General Investment Authority, presented an overview of the industrial and production intervention matrix led by the ministry. The matrix is designed to support economic empowerment projects and establish small-scale industrial units capable of processing agricultural and livestock outputs, thereby enhancing local job creation and integration between the agricultural and industrial sectors.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the need for a coordinated and integrated mechanism among relevant entities to ensure effective implementation of the exemptions outlined in the new Investment Law. He highlighted the importance of creating a supportive ecosystem for small businesses to generate job opportunities, reduce unemployment, and boost economic activity.

The meeting also recommended:

- Activating a single-window system to simplify access to exemptions,

- Digitally linking all involved institutions to accelerate processes,

- Leveraging international best practices in small enterprise support.

Additionally, the Head of the General Authority for Small and Micro Enterprise Development confirmed that the authority is currently conducting a study to identify target agricultural cooperatives and productive families for training and capacity-building, enabling them to participate in industrial and productive activities.
