Experts and researchers have commended the General Investment Authority for supporting the Coffee Business Clinic held at the 2025 Sana'a International Coffee Exhibition. They consider this initiative a significant step toward establishing an advanced system to enhance coffee productivity and quality while boosting its competitiveness in both local and international markets by leveraging its unique characteristics and historical reputation.

During their participation in the activities of the Coffee Business Clinic—also known as the "Advisory Tent"—experts highlighted that the clinic aims to provide information, guidance, and advisory services to exhibition participants, including farmers, traders, exporters, university students, and researchers.

Dr. Ameen Al-Azab, Senior Expert at the National Coffee Research Center, explained that the clinic, managed by a group of academics, researchers, and coffee specialists, operates on two main tracks. The first focuses on business consultation for coffee marketing and entrepreneurship, while the second is dedicated to coffee plant care, cultivation, seedling production, and market expansion.

He further noted that the clinic offers consultancy on seedling production, coffee tree cultivation, pest control, proper harvesting techniques, post-harvest processing, marketing, and exporting. It also provides guidance on launching small coffee-related businesses, evaluating coffee quality, identifying different varieties, and understanding the unique treatment methods for each type.

Dr. Al-Azab stated that the clinic's advisory services also cover key concepts related to coffee roasting and production processes. Additionally, it identifies the challenges facing coffee cultivation in different regions, helping the clinic build a detailed and accurate database on coffee farming and production across Yemen’s provinces.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Rashid, Director of the Coffee Sector at the Ministry of Agriculture in Dhamar and a member of the supervisory team, emphasized that the clinic provides explanations and guidance on various aspects of coffee production, from selecting the right variety to post-harvest processing. It also educates farmers on agricultural seasons, best practices for coffee cultivation, and proper marketing techniques.

He highlighted that these guidelines play a crucial role in protecting farmers from potential losses by raising awareness about the importance of adhering to sustainable agricultural practices and following the correct cultivation methods.

Engineer Rashid also stressed the importance of holding a seminar following the conclusion of the Sana'a International Coffee Exhibition. This seminar would serve as a platform for farmers, exporters, new local traders, agricultural associations, and coffee-related businesses to discuss outcomes and explore strategies for further developing this vital economic sector.

For his part, Mohamed Hassan, President of the Coffee Producers’ Associations Union, described the Coffee Business Clinic as an essential awareness and advisory tool aimed at increasing coffee production and improving its quality to ensure competitiveness in local and global markets.

He further noted that the exhibition includes a variety of promotional activities designed to introduce the public to coffee products and facilitate knowledge exchange among participants. More than 250 representatives from leading coffee companies, associations, producers, and relevant organizations are taking part in the event to showcase their products.

It is worth noting that the Sana’a International Coffee Exhibition is organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Water Resources through the General Corporation for Coffee Development and Marketing, with funding from the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Promotion Fund. The event features promotional activities to raise awareness about Yemeni coffee culture and highlight the importance of coffee cultivation.
