The Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Eng. Moein Hashem Al-Mahaqari, directed the issuance of a memorandum to the General Union of Chambers of Commerce and Industry, instructing all commercial chambers in the capital and provinces to urge merchants to quickly sell off their existing U.S. goods before the three-month presidential deadline, and shift toward alternative products.

During a meeting chaired by Minister Al-Mahaqari to discuss executive measures for the boycott, emphasis was placed on swiftly enforcing the directives of the President of the Supreme Political Council, Marshal Mahdi Al-Mashat, to prohibit the import, distribution, and circulation of U.S. and Israeli goods, including those under American and Israeli trademarks.

The meeting praised the growing public awareness and adherence to the boycott, highlighting it as a religious, moral, and humanitarian commitment in support of the Palestinian cause and resistance to the U.S.-Israeli aggression against Yemen.

Attendees also stressed the importance of activating official and grassroots media efforts to raise awareness about the boycott, involving preachers, counselors, and civil society organizations to promote the campaign. The initiative is seen as an effective economic tool reflecting Yemen's faith-driven stance against Zionist and American terrorism.

Mohammed Qatran, Deputy Minister for the Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Sector, confirmed that ministry offices, in collaboration with the competent judicial authorities, will commence the confiscation and destruction of boycotted goods immediately after the three-month grace period expires.

Fouad Howaidi, Assistant Deputy for the Foreign Trade Sector, reported that imports of U.S. goods into Yemen dropped by 67.91% in 2024 compared to 2022.

The meeting approved a draft resolution banning the import and circulation of U.S. and Israeli goods, which has been submitted to the Prime Minister for final endorsement.
