A legal committee from the private sector, chaired by Mr. Ali Mohammed Al-Hadi, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat of Sana'a, convened today, Monday, November 25, 2024, at the headquarters of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce. The meeting aimed to discuss the amendments proposed by the government and the private sector to the Companies Law, Trademarks Law, and the Law on Commercial Agencies and Branches of Trade Houses.

This was the committee's first meeting, which was mandated by high-level authorities to review draft amendments to the commercial laws in preparation for their approval by the Government of Change and Development.

During the meeting, initial visions for the amendments of the three laws were presented, and it was agreed that the heads of legal departments in the chambers of commerce would coordinate with commercial companies to incorporate the comments and suggestions from the chambers and businesses. These inputs are to be integrated into the amended draft laws by the committee’s legal team, led by Mr. Abdul Hakim Al-Osbahi, representative of the Hayel Saeed Group.

It is noteworthy that the committee's membership includes members from the Federation's Board of Directors, as well as legal experts and consultants from the Capital Secretariat Chamber, the Sana'a Governorate Chamber, and representatives from the legal departments of major companies in Yemen.
