Inauguration of the Rehabilitation of the First Production Line at Amran Cement Plant

As part of efforts to improve production capacity and enhance quality at Amran Cement Plant, H.E. Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Engineer Moein Al-Mahakri, inaugurated the project to rehabilitate the plant's first production line on Thursday, October 24, 2024. The project is self-funded.

The initiative, which saw participation from the Chairman of the General Investment Authority, Mr. Yasser Al-Mansour, and Yahya Atifa, Chairman of the Yemeni General Corporation for Cement Manufacturing and Marketing, aims to increase the plant's production capacity and improve its efficiency, with a focus on cost reduction and transitioning the plant to operate on coal.

The minister, along with the Chairman of the Investment Authority and the Chairman of the Corporation, also inspected the production process in the plant's second production line, where they received a briefing from experts on the production stages.

A meeting was held, chaired by Minister Al-Mahakri, with the plant's management and corporation leaders to discuss development and modernization plans. The minister emphasized the importance of preparing development plans in a scientific and well-studied manner, especially in terms of maintaining existing equipment or acquiring new machinery.

For his part, the Chairman of the Corporation's Board of Directors confirmed that a new marketing policy would be launched to align with the ongoing development at the corporation. He described the inauguration of the rehabilitation project for the plant's first production line and the resumption of production as a significant addition and a qualitative leap for the plant and the modern cement industry in Yemen.
