"Chamber of Commerce and Yemeni Consumer Protection Association Partner to Boost National Products"

To enhance the position of national products in both local and international markets, and under the auspices of the Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Engineer Maeen Hashem Al-Mahaqari, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat of Sana’a signed a joint cooperation agreement with the Yemeni Consumer Protection Association on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Ministry of Economy. The agreement aims to promote national products, raise consumer awareness about the importance of local goods, and improve the competitiveness of Yemeni industries.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohammed Mohammed Salah, Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Capital Secretariat, and Mr. Fadhl Maqbal Mansour, President of the Yemeni Consumer Protection Association.

The agreement's objectives include addressing challenges facing productive and industrial sectors, providing a platform for marketing national products to enhance their competitiveness against imported goods, boosting consumer confidence in Yemeni industries and products, and unifying efforts between the public and private sectors to support the national economy. This aligns with the goals of the national initiative to support Yemeni products, "My Product is My Nation."

After signing the agreement, Mr. Mohammed Mohammed Salah, Vice Chairman of the Chamber, stated:
"This agreement embodies the Chamber's commitment to supporting national industries and enhancing consumer confidence in local products. We are confident that this cooperation with the Yemeni Consumer Protection Association will yield tangible positive results."

Mr. Fadhl Maqbal Mansour added:
"We see this partnership as a valuable opportunity to unite our efforts with the Chamber of Commerce in serving Yemeni consumers and supporting national products. We look forward to working together to achieve the objectives of this agreement."

It is worth mentioning that this agreement marks a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between the private sector and civil society to support the national economy and protect consumers. It is expected to contribute to achieving the goals of the national initiative to support Yemeni products, "My Product is My Nation."

The agreement was ratified and endorsed by Minister Maeen Hashem Al-Mahaqari and witnessed by Mr. Mohammed Al-Fazari, Head of the Promotion Sector at the General Investment Authority, Mr. Sam Al-Bashiri, Executive Director of the Yemeni Standards and Quality Control Authority, and Mr. Adel Mohammed Al-Khoulani, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce.
