His Excellency Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi reaffirmed the significant responsibility placed on the economic, industrial, and investment sectors in driving economic growth, enhancing investment opportunities, and expanding the national industrial base by utilizing local inputs.

During his meeting on Saturday, February 8, 2025, with the Minister of Economy, Industry, and Investment, Engineer Moeen Al-Mahaqeri, the Prime Minister praised the achievements made in this sector so far, which reflect the government’s program aimed at streamlining and facilitating service delivery procedures and processing transactions for citizens and relevant entities. He also underscored the importance of coordinated efforts between the ministry and all relevant stakeholders to achieve a qualitative leap in value chain projects and the localization of industries.

The meeting reviewed the overall performance of the ministry and its affiliated units, along with development programs in this vital economic sector.

Additionally, the discussions covered ongoing preparations to enhance the supply and commodity situation for the holy month of Ramadan, in coordination with the private commercial sector. The meeting also addressed the follow-up on industrial localization programs, recognizing their importance in supporting, protecting, and ensuring the expansion and prosperity of national industries.

The discussions further included economic empowerment programs and the necessity for projects to incorporate value chains that contribute to reducing the import bill. This is seen as a crucial factor in fostering economic growth by launching community and rural economy initiatives in collaboration with the relevant ministries.
