On Monday, January 20, 2025, the Government of Change and Development launched a program aimed at disbursing salaries for state employees and settling local debts of small depositors under the slogan "Together We Can." Member of the Supreme Political Council, Mohammed Ali Al-Houthi, stated that this program represents a significant step towards fulfilling the rights of employees and depositors, praising the resilience of the Yemeni people in facing the current challenges.
Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi commended the efforts exerted by the Ministries of Finance, Economy, Industry, Investment, and Civil Service to implement the temporary mechanism for supporting the wage bill and settling public debts. He highlighted that this mechanism contributes to achieving job and psychological stability for employees and revitalizing the national economy.
Minister of Finance Abdul-Jabbar Ahmed Mohammed confirmed that the program will begin by settling debts for 467,000 small depositors in the first month, focusing on improving cash liquidity and reducing economic stagnation. He clarified that these solutions are temporary, emphasizing the importance of developing sustainable solutions in the future.
The launch was attended by several ministers, security officials, and private sector representatives, who stressed the need for collective efforts to achieve further accomplishments despite the challenging circumstances the country is experiencing.
